The director of finance must have strong leadership, management, technology, analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills in order to be a part of the management team. This may be the role for you if you are an experienced VP/Director of Finance looking for a challenging role at an established company.Key responsibilities- Develop and monitor an organizational structure in order to accomplish department goals and objectives- Supervise financial planning and budget management functions- Oversee the preparation of all financial reports- Ensure adherence to budgetary reporting requirements, including local, state, and federal- Supervise all operations of the finance and accounting department- Develop financial analysis prior to contract negotiations and product investment decisions- Propose benchmarks for analyzing financial and operating performance- Oversee all hiring aspects of finance staff, including training and retention- Take ownership of insurance and risk management- Analyze and monitor forecasting and budgeting models- Collaborate with department managers to develop five-year business plans- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts- Establish short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures- Analyze monthly operating performance against budget
